Abstract

A power plug is designed to provide protection against electrocution as a result of contact with bare pins. the plug has an overall body (1, 12) made of some insulating material which is cut-away to provide recesses (6) for the pins (2) and for individual co-axial insulating sleeves (8) providing the protection. The pins are solid and have tapped rear faces to allow cable connection (3, 5). Each pin carries a helical spring (11) which bears on the rear surface (9) of its sleeve such that when presented to a socket the sleeves which are unable to enter the socket are pushed back as the pins enter it.
