Abstract

The current carrying rail particularly for an overhead conveyor has an outside section with a zone for electric contact (14). The section (10) has a 'U' form with two similar flanks on a base. The external surface of the base serves as a contact zone and the internal opposite side is semicircular. The outside surfaces of the flanks are at least partly flat from the base and have at outer extremities a 10 deg. chamfer. Elements clip into an insulator support with a flat base with pairs of ribs (54, 55) inclined towards one another at an angle slightly more than that of the 'U' flanks. Each pair of shoulders can clamp the rail at its flanks. The ribs can partly enclose the rail element to limit the access to the zone of electrical contact.
