Abstract

The shotgun cartridge end cap (1) has an area of diminishing thickness (8) in the base (A). The outer side of the cap is cylindrical and can move, and its outer diameter is slightly greater than the inside of the tube (2). There are several zones (6) across which are placed rings of solder or welding and these form the washer proper. The progressive thinning is at approximately 15 deg. to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge.
