Abstract
The anchorage system for prestressing beds has a static and a movable transverse anchor beam at opposed ends of the line. The bed is for the prodn. of precast prestressed concrete beams (5) and the anchor beams are used to anchor and apply tension to the steel stressing cables (C). The anchor beams have open ended key-hole sockets (8) on their inner upper edges to locate the cable ends. The system reduces the quantity of cable wasted. The anchor sockets (8) are of key-hole shape in plan aligning on the cable (C) axis, with the stem opening out onto the inner anchor beam (6) face and receive the cable end with attached wedge. The width of the bed may be subdivided into relatively narrow sections (1) with individual anchor beams (6) to each section. The mobile anchor beam (6) may be guided by roller (14) in rails (12) and displaced by a jack (15, 16) at each end. The jacks (15, 16) acts between the inner face of the anchor beam (6) and thrust blocks (3, 4) which flank the end of the subject beam (5).
