Abstract

Animal feed supplements are made from powdered minerals which can absorb a large quantity nutrient liquid. They have a semolina-like consistency, are of low hardness, and do not agglomerate. Such supplements do not suffer from the known draw-backs of powdered materials. The process requires little energy, no drying, and the product does not need cooling before packing into sacks. A typical compsn. contained 20% molasses, 75% bicalcium phosphate, 4% salt and 1% trace elements and vitamins premix.
