Abstract

A driven pulley (5) is connected to a rotatable member (3) which has an oblique bore (4). A bearing (6) in bore (4) receives the short arm (7) of a bell crank lever (8) which is carried in a spherical bearing (9) in mountings (10). The long arm (11) of the bell crank lever is connected by ball and socket joint (12) to the cutting blade. A cylindrical portion (13) is guided in bearings (14) in the drive cover (15). Rotation of the pulley causes bearing (6) and the end of arm (7) to follow a circular path. The spherical bearing and bearings (14) permit and constrain the long arm to reciprocate over an acurate path.
