Abstract

In such an arrangement a selective-cut heading machine is used in which a cutting device (18) with a driven cutting drum is arranged on a platform (13) such that it can pivot about the shaft axis. So that a larger working range can be covered by the cutting drum of the cutting device (18) without the entire platform (13) together with the cutting device (18) having to be lowered by a small step in the shaft after every widening cut, the cutting device can at the same time be lifted and lowered relative to the platform (13). This also enables the shaft widening work and the ancillary work which is to be performed from the platform (13), such as, in particular, support and stabilising work, to be carried out independently of one another to a greater degree.
