Abstract

The braking system for a railway vehicle has an electrical circuit giving a signal according to the position of a switch. These correspond to electric braking or normal braking. there are also an electropneumatic converter (3) and a pneumatic relay (4). This relay is fed from an auxiliary reservoir (5) and controlled by pressure from the converter (3) and a brake distributor (6) fed by a brake pipe (7). The relay (4) feeds or empties the brake cylinder (8) in response to signals from the converter (3) and the distributor (6).
