Abstract

To register the position of a gear box selector, there is a console (1) covering the gear box. The lever or selector (2) goes through an opening (3) at an oblique angle to the horizontal plane to a ball end (4). A box (5) is fixed by a screw (6) to the top of the console. There is a translucent diffusing plate (7) and a transparent screen (8) with an edge (8a), forming a chamber (9). The upper screen touches the console (1) and has a long hole covered by the screen. The diffuser has several reference lines corresponding to gear positions. These can be seen with the aid of a lamp.
