Abstract

An auxiliary fitting for a vehicle wheel to enable it to run on snow or mud, has a circular cheek (50) on the wheel made of tube (51) on which are five, evenly spaced hinged parts (52). Each part (52) has a radial piece which is hinged around the tube with two side pieces. These are perforated to hinge on the tube and held by a nut on a threaded pin solid with the tube. Another piece (60) is hinged and pinned (66) to a lower plate (64) which goes over the outside of the tyre (65). This plate (64) has a specially rough surface.
