Abstract

Feed for cattle is stored in a hopper (6) and discharged through a passage defined by deflectors (32, 18, 19) into a drum (8) via an opening (25). On receipt of a signal, a motor rotates the drum through one revolution, emptying its charge of feed. The quantity of feed going into the drum can be regulated by longitudinal movement of a partition in the drum so as to partially close the opening. The deflectors are pref. flexible, their free edges resiliently bearing against circular ribs formed in the end walls of the passage.
