Abstract

The roller holds the type for a label printing machine and has a centrally positioned support disc preventing undue wear on the type face. This roller (1) is in two parts (10, 11), each clamped together (13, 14) around the disc to give a bolted assembly. The type is made from rubber and comprises two annular rings (4), one each side of the disc (12), having their under-surfaces held in locating channels (3). These are partly formed by the disc sides, its circumference having teeth level with the tops of the type. The strip (15) to be printed passes between the rollers (1), the disc providing grip and absorbing pressure.
