Abstract

Composite sheet for coating, packaging, protection, etc., comprises a supporting layer of paper contg. thermoplastic particles or fibres, with a layer of non-woven material on >=1 surface. Pref. there are two supporting layers of paper on both sides of which is a layer of non-woven material consisting of natural and/or synthetic fibres, and with a coating of thermoplastic material on the supporting layer. One of the supporting layers pref. consist of synthetic material. The sheet is smoothon both sides and can be mfd. easily and at low cost. The non-woven material ensures reinforcement of the supporting layer when free fibres without preferential orientation are fixed to the supporting layer. Applied forces are transmitted and distributed in all directions in the two layers.
