Dans le cas d'un poteau métallique, elle fait partie de la paroi, les pattes ou ergots étant rapportés sur le poteau ou formés par découpe à partir de celui-ci. Les moyens ainsi prévus permettent la fixation de fils de palissage ou de fils de clôture.
