Abstract

L'invention décrit un procédé de production d'un catalyseur à base de trichlorure de titane pour la polymérisation des alpha-oléfines. On réduit le tétrachlorure de titane avec un Composé organique de métal puis l'on traite le produit résultant avec un hydrocarbure chloré comportant au moins 2 C, comme l'hexachloréthane, le pentachloréthane, le tétrachloréthane, le trichloréthane, etc., en présence d'un agent de complexation et du tétrachlorure de titane. Le catalyseur peut notamment servir à la polymérisation du propylène et à sa copolymérisation du propylène et à sa copolymérisation avec l'éthylène.
