Abstract

A theatre seat has a swing-up seat made of sheet metal (13) and individually screwed into floor by foot and foot plate and four screws (4, 5). Each arm (22) with a screwing plate (22a, 23) serves two adjacent chairs, the screwing plates joining the chairs into rows. The back is made from a curved metal sheet (2) with reinforced surrounding edges (3) forming the backrest. At its lower end the sheet metal is folded back upon itself (2a) thus forming a rigid transverse support. The seat (12) is slightly curved with surrounding reinforced edges (14) and a square rigid transverse support at the back (15, 16) engaging the backrest when moved into the horizontal position.
