Abstract

The large dia. bale handling machine has a rigid frame which can be carried by a tractor three point hitch. Brackets (19) carry the drum (13) of a slatted conveyor (11). A rotating shaft n15) driven in the opposite direction to the conveyor, has paddles (16) which have clearance from the conveyor. Lifting forks (14) extend beyond the conveyor and are pivoted. Jacks which extend to raise the forks when they have engaged under a roll of hay. Members (36, 37) abut to stop this movement and further extension of the jacks lifts the lower end of the conveyor. Operation of the conveyor will unroll the hay which passes between the conveyor and paddles.
