Abstract

Système de transmission de données entre un grand nombre de terminaux à priori incompatibles. Les messages émis par des terminaux analogiques ou numériques 202, 214 subissent les conversions nécessaires de vitesse, code format et protocole dans des processeurs frontaux 208, 212... et sont transmis par paquets, après compression numérique, à des centres de commutation 220... commandés par programme enregistré. Des paquets de différentes origines, multiplexés dans le temps, sont commutés à grande vitesse vers les centres d'arrivée 222..., éventuellement via un centre de transit 224, et peuvent être enregistrés et retransmis selon des priorités déterminées (commutation de messages) dans ces centres ou dans des concentrateurs 232 avant la reconstitution des messages dans les processeurs frontaux d'arrivée 236..., ou transmis directement à ces derniers 228... Application particulière à la transmission télégraphique fac-similé.
