Abstract

Rotary knob for turning a spindle, e.g. on an electrical instrument, water valve etc. has a rotary position indication in the form of a number carrier whose numbers appear in a stationary aperture. The free end face (1) of the knob (2) acts as the number carrier and is completely covered by a disc (3) having one or more apertures (4). The disc is attached to the free end (5) of a support (8) parallel to the axis of the knob and fixed at its other end (9) to the frame (10) carrying the spindle. Pref. the disc has a flange (12) located in a shoulder (13) on the top edge of the knob.
