Abstract

Conveyor-distributor enables raw foodstuffs to be taken from a silo, or be received into a hopper, to be cut up and then distributed ready cut. The hopper is fitted with a conveyor, supplied with rakes, and driven by chains around the drums. The hopper can be carried by the three-point coupling of a tractor. Mobile rakes draw the raw materials onto the coveyor which carries them towards the discharge end, in the direction of the arrow. An arched opening and a rotating disc, fitted with knives, are located at the discharge end while the support of the disc is retractably mounted on two oscillating arms. A deflector prevents any debris from the roots from falling on the ground. The drive for the cutting disc is by a bevel drive and a shaft; this is itself driven by toothed wheels through a chain. Starting with beets or other tubers it is possible to feed cattle with chopped beets by using only one machine for transporting, cutting and distributing them; it may also be used for removing them from a silo.
