Abstract

The sandwich-type insulating element or panel, esp. as used on roofs, has a core of insulating material, made of hard foam, and top and bottom covering layers. The surface of the bottom layer which faces the insulating core is covered with a layer of perlite, vermiculite, diatomite, pumice, glass foam or other lightweight, porous inorganic material, with a bonding medium. The layers are 5 - 30 mm thick, pref. 5 - 10 mm. The downward projecting seams of the profiled covering layers may be completely filled with the bonded inorganic material.
