Abstract

The office chair (20) has a padded seat (22) and back (27) formed by applying a plastic foam and outer cover to a rigid pressed steel support plate. The back is attached to the seat by a flat arm rest (30,32) on each side. Each arm rest has its upper portion extended and each end has a pin joint (28) which permits angular adjustment of the back relative to the seat. This is adjustable on the pedestal base (24,26) for angle and height. Seat and back are manufactured by placing the formed plate and plastic items in a moulding press, the peripheries being sealed together.
