Abstract
The combined tensiometer and thermal testing device is used to study phase transformation and thermal decomposition in metal samples under applied tensile stress. It comprises a support frame for the metal sample, with a fixed clamping jaw and a mobile clamping jaw, to which a variable force can be applied. The sample may be subjected to predetermined temperature conditions, with the applied force, the temperature and he extension of the sample being measured. The variations in the length of the frame in dependence on the temperature are cancelled via a compensation system.
