Abstract

The height adjustable floor slab is equipped with removable carpet squares. Used to mount technical equipment such as computers, the slab may be adjusted precisely by jacks. The demountable carpet (10, 11) squares are replaceable and are temporarily fixed in place by pairs of self-gripping, e.g. Velcro (RTM), pads (6, 7). The pads (6) may be set in recesses in the slab (1) surface and engaged by pads (7) which are bonded to the underside of the carpet squares (10, 11). The pads (6) which are fixed to the slab may be set in 'X' shaped recesses (2, 3) defining the carpet square. Alternatively they may be set in a series of circular recesses. The slab may be completely covered with sheet steel.
