Abstract
The induction melting of metals is performed in a vessel having a base and an upper collar connected laterally in the heating zone to the base by electrically isolated stays which are held between two spaced annular supports. The suports are each respectively integral with the collar and the base of the vessel, the collar, vessel base and their associated supports having at least one peripheral electrical discontinuity. Vessel has a simple and mechanically robust structure. The risks of overheating any parts, particularly those parts located externally of the inductive winding, are very slight.
