Abstract

In the case of a recessed-pin plug having a large number of poles (for example 132), a low insertion force is achieved in that the contact points (6, 6', 7, 7') are distributed in four rows, there being two contact points per contact so that the force for opening the contact springs (3, 3') must be applied in four stages. Two differently shaped types of contact spring are now required whose alternate arrangement at the same time produces sufficient clearance between the terminating pins so that, for example, wire-wrapped connections can be implemented using normal tools. The recessed-pin plug described is particularly suitable for interaction with a printed-circuit board on whose edge contacts the contact springs (3, 3') are intended to rest in order to form the contact points (6, 6', 7, 7').
