Abstract

On prépare des gels hydrophiles insolubles dans l'eau contenant au moins un groupement hydroxy et un groupement carboxylato, en saponifiant les copolymères comprenant un composant ester vinylique et un composant ester d'acide acrylique ou méthacrylique, ou des terpolymères contenant ces deux composants et un composant éthylène, en présence d'un catalyseur alcalin et d'un solvant dans des conditions dans lesquelles lesdits copolymères ou terpolymères ne se dissolvent pas. Obtention de gels hydrophiles insolubles dans l'eau ayant un pouvoir d'absorption élevé.
