Abstract

A vehicle electric light switch comprises a hollow moulded resin body (11) and a driving part (12) carried by and in sliding engagement with the body. A light source is positioned inside the switch. A window e.g. a translucent screen (13) in the driving part is illuminated by the light source. An opaque shutter (18) is pivoted on the inside of the switch, between the source, e.g. an optical cable (15) and the window (13). The shutter can be rotated abouts its pivot with respect to the body and the driving part. The light beam from the window is a function of the position of the shutter. A diverging lens (17) is used to project the light onto the screen (13).
