Abstract

The machine is used for sorting letter post and similar documents and comprises sections for conveying the letters, and reading the post code, the letters being then deposited in compartments. These compartments form a ring which comprises the outer wall of a cylinder. A receptacle is provided on the end of a horizontal arm, several of these rotating inside the annular ring and rotated through a central vertical pivot. An access flap is provided between each compartment and the receptacles these being operated mechanically and electrically to control their movements relative to the position of the receptacles.
