Abstract

Tooth root filler comprises a shank (1) rigidly connected to a shaft (2) inserted in a dental handpiece and rotated about its longitudinal axis. The shank has a long resilient rectangular-section lamella which tapers to a point at its outer end and which is wound helically about its longitudinal axis along at least part of its length. The cross-section of the lamella pref. has rounded side surfaces. The lamella is mfd. by working a hard metal wire section into a conical shape, flattening it along its whole length, and winding it helically about its axis. The tool acts like an Archimedean screw, reliably conveying the paste to the bottom of the root channel.
