Abstract

The gas discharge display panel has a maintaining voltage generator associated with each display cell, with a continuous reference signal applied to one set of conductors for the display panel. The level of the reference signal corresponds to that of the signals from associated logic circuits, with continuous communication between the latter and the conductor set. Signals of higher level, with an amplitude equal to that of the maintaining voltage are obtained from the reference signal and applied to the other set of conductors for the display panel. the logic circuits communicate with the second conductor set during the interval between the higher level signals, and the algebraic sum of this higher level and the logic signals corresponding to the ignitions voltage for the display cells.
