Abstract

Ski with steel wire reinforcing extending along its whole length, is formed as described. An upper protective plate and a sliding surface part are combined with a plastic core cast between them and reinforced with steel wires, which are assembled in the core free from any play, except in the zones of the ski point and rear end. Pref. the joint between the core and the steel reinforcing wires designed to be elastic in these ski-zones subjected to bending forces. In the front and rear sections the laminate structure comprises the cast polyurethane core, the protective upper plate and a lower sliding surface e.g. of polyethylene, with lateral steel edge plates.
