Le moteur possède des pôles auxiliaires de commutation qui permettent de tourner sans étincelles électriques aux balais fixes. Le moteur peut tourner soit sous l'action d'un courant continu soit sous l'action d'un courant alternatif sans faire apparaître une force contre-électromotrice. Le moteur donnant un rendement exceptionnel peut remplacer tous les moteurs qui font apparaître une force contre-electromotrice.
