Abstract

The system has gyrating masses connected to a distributor cam to change its angular position in accordance with the motor speed. At least one cam element (25) is coupled with the distributor cam. Its peripheral surface is curved and interacting with a lever (32) with a variable length arm. The arm (32) coupling so changes in accordance with the angular movement of gyrating masses. The contact surface of one or both parts interacting with this lever or the cam (25) is such that after rotation to the optimum greatest ignition advance the torque acting on the cam surface (25) is zero. The force transmitted by it passes through its centre of rotation.
