Ledit indicateur comporte un rotor tournant à une vitesse qui varie en fonction de la vitesse à mesurer et qui comporte plusieurs pôles disposés alternativement autour de sa périphérie, un stator ayant des pôles intercalés et un enroulement électrique dans lequel doit être induite une tension électrique qui varie en fonction de la vitesse de rotation du rotor et donc de la vitesse de mesurer, les pôles statoriques étant coniques à leurs extrémités libres.
