Abstract

The track of the automatic train control is fitted with a series of markings those spacing is monitored by detectors on each train. The signals from the detector are compared with a programme circuit to control the train speed w.r.t. signal frequency. This enables the train to be slowed for bends etc. by a closer spacing of markings and without a link to a central control. The automatic control is simpler than a central control and allows accurate and safe train control. Special markings are set at intervals along the track to regulate the timing of the trains i.e to speed or retain the trains to fit in with the programmed timetable.
