Abstract

The folding chair consists of an upper frame and front legs, a lower frame and rear legs, and finally an intermediate frame interconnecting them. It is made entirely from rectangular section slats. Each frame consists of a stack of slats, and the different slats forming the frames fit between each other. Viewed from the front, the upper and lower parts slope towards the middle, i.e. the intermediate slats fit between the other slats, so as to spread the latter slats further apart, giving a wider seating surface. The frames are attached by hinge pins which slope to allow the slats to slope.
