Abstract
The concrete-heating vessel (1) uses a three-phase electric current to impart heat to the concrete. The current is passed through the concrete which, thus, acts as a resistance, and is transmitted (5, 6, 7) by the walls (2, 3, 4) of the vessel. The vessel has three independently insulated side walls (2, 3, 4) which each transmits a current-phase. In plan, the vessel may be of a three-legged (8, 9, 10) star form with each leg terminating in a vertical panel (12, 13, 14) perpendicular to the leg-axis, and centrally curved panels (4a to 4c) between end-panels (13, 14) forming the transmission-walls. Each leg or bay of the vessel is thus rectangular with circular transition curves (4c) between converging walls (4a, 4b).
