Abstract

L'invention décrit un élément (plaque) de formation d'une image électrostatique. La plaque contient un composé de métal réductible pouvant libérer du métal par réduction, et un agent réducteur pouvant réduire ce composé afin de permettre la formation d'une image de grains du métal libéré par le composé de métal sur la portion de cette plaque soumise à l'action d'une énergie, pour produire une telle image et de l'énergie thermique. La plaque contient également un moyen capable de capturer un sous-produit indésirable résultant de la réaction entre le composé métallique réductible et l'agent réducteur pendant la formation de l'image de grains métalliques. Cet élément de formation d'image ou cette plaque peut servir de matrice dans un appareil et procédé de reproduction électrophotographique.
