Abstract
L'invention concerne la préparation de l'acide méthacrylique par déshydrogénation oxydante d'acide isobutyrique. On utilise un catalyseur contenant un hétéro-polyacide et/ou une forme réduite de cet hétéro-polyacide supporté sur une matière siliceuse présentant une aptitude élevée à absorber l'eau et l'on conduit la réaction en phase vapeur. Le taux de transformation et la sélectivité sont améliorés ainsi que la durabilité du catalyseur en fonctionnement continu.
