Abstract

The rivet head for textile webs etc. comprises a plastics sleeve (3) covered by a metal cap (2) which has on the inside an adjoining metal insert (4) whilst a further metal insert (11) which is supported on the funnel-shaped part (5) of the sleeve (3) is inserted in the rivet head. This extra metal insert (11) together with the part (12) of the other metal insert (4) adjoining the cap (2) forms a cavity (14) and in the centre has a bore (15) through which the rivet tip is passed. The outer part of the rivet head comprising the cap and sleeve thus serves for decoration but takes up no mechanical stresses which are all borne by the inner metal insert which can be punched out of metal strip without any further surface treatment.
