Abstract

The reserve paper supply system keeps an unmanned teleprinter in operation longer by allowing changeover to the reserve when the main supply of paper runs out. Both reserve and main paper are monitored. The main monitor brings the reserve paper supply into standby mode when the main supply runs out. Incoming messages are then typed out on the reserve paper. When both reserve and main paper supplies have run out the teleprinter is automatically switched to 'engaged'.
