Abstract

The device has a charge storing body (10) a dielectric layer on the body and two channels, each of which has a number of electrodes on the dielectric layer. They control sequential transmission of movable charges along the body in response to timing voltages applied to the electrodes. A common input electrode is provided on the dielectric layer near the input of each channel, controlling transfer of a fixed charge from an adjacent source. A control electrode is provided at each channel input close to the common input electrode. They individually respond to separate control signals, so that a selected part of the fixed charge is applied to one channel, and the rest of the charge to the other. Charge in the other channel is the complement of the charge in the first channel.
