Abstract

Dispositif ayant un rapport signal sur bruit amélioré sans réduction de la pression du gaz dans l'intervalle entre les électrodes. Il comprend une première électrode 20 émettant des photons lumineux en réponse à des quanta de rayons X qui la frappent, une seconde électrode 21 écartée de cette première électrode de façon à former un intervalle entre elles, cette seconde électrode comprenant une couche en matériau isolant 29, un gaz remplissant l'intervalle entre la première et la seconde électrode, des moyens 30 pour créer un champ électrique dans cet intervalle, des moyens 36 placés dans cet intervalle et écartés de la première et de la seconde électrode pour l'émission d'électrons primaires lents et rapides en réponse respectivement à l'impact de photons lumineux et à l'impact d'au moins une partie des rayons X et des moyens 37 pour faire une discrimination entre ces électrons lents et ces électrons rapides de façon à permettre à ces électrons lents d'être accélérés à travers cet intervalle par le champ électrique et pour pratiquement éviter que les électrons rapides n'entrent dans l'intervalle 22 entre les moyens discriminateurs et la seconde électrode.
