Abstract
The impulse water turbine has its stator casing (2) fed through a valve (3) to a spherical manifold. Feed pipes (5) radiate symmetrically from the manifold to jets (6). Control valves adjust the flow in each pipe. The jets are directed tangentially onto the turbine wheel and the water is led away through a pipe. Pref. four jets are arranged symmetrically about the impeller, all radiating from the spherical manifold.
