Abstract

The A/D convertor has an input stage (3) receiving the analogue signal and converting it into an analogue difference current signal. This signal controls a number of circuits with amplifying stages for generation of a number of consecutive residual difference current signals. These signals may have different frequencies. Circuits controlled by analogue difference current signal and residual difference current signals, generate a number of digital output signals. Each of the converter units and zero current generators (5, 9, 13) generates a series of significant bits starting with the least significant bit and ending with the most significant bit.
