Abstract

A buffer store between a cigarette making machine and a packaging machine has two spaced apart horizontal belt conveyors positioned between two sides walls, thus forming a tunnel between fed and take off conveyors. To increase the capacity, the lower belt conveyor is lowered by a swinging arm. The belt, which has ribs across it to convey the cigarettes even when sloping, passes over drive and return rollers with a tensioning roller pulling outwards against the slack side, thus forming a triangular run of belt. The swinging arm, is attached to a pivot point between the drive and tensioning rollers. A filler plate is mounted between the feed belt and the return end of the belt.
