Abstract
An integrated module for constructing solar energy collectors is made by moulding a translucent or transparent material, integrating the functions of radiation transmission, framing and mounting. The material is composed of cut glass fibres and polyester resin. The device can be used to heat air or water for heating dwellings or for horticultural applications, where it can constitute a frame or make a complete greenhouse. Erection is simple and the overall cost is 15-25% of that of existing collectors. It is durable, fluid-tight and its overall efficiency is equal to 95% that of glass collectors.
