Abstract

A flow control valve has a valve piston for closing the valve. An axial extension of the piston is used to connect a rotary flow meter when the valve piston is in the open position. When the required fluid vol. has been transferred, the flow meter helix operates a lever, which then opens an auxiliary valve. This allows pressure increase inside the cylinder of a shuttle piston. Since the shuttle piston is located on the main valve piston rod, its movement retracts the main piston and thus shutting off the valve.
