Abstract

The hose nipple comprises a coupling section and a tubular portion fixed in the end of the hose. Part at least of the outer surface of the tubular portion (1) is formed by part of one or more cones whose axis coincides with that of the tubular portion, and whose apexes extend away from the hose (4). The maximum cone angle is 60 deg. Another part of the tubular portion outer surface can be cylindrical, and coaxial with the tubular portion, typically that between the conical portion and the coupling section. There can also be a further conical section (8), the apex of which is towards the hose.
